Virginia Center Commons Mall Directory Map (2014)

Description

Virginia Center Commons is a recently closed mall located in Glen Allen, VA just north of Richmond. The mall was opened in 1991 by DeBartolo and is one of their last malls they built. For the majority of the mall’s life, it was owned by Simon. The property made 3 other area malls close but new competition, especially 2 new malls opened in September 2003 started to hinder the mall. The mall faltered further once Simon gave up the property in the mid 2010’s. The mall is now permanently closed as of Nov. 1, 2022.
This map is from 2014 on my ONLY visit to the mall and right before Simon released the property. The mall had a few vacancies then but of course, it was made worse later on, leading up to the closure of the mall in 2022.
