Offered here is a beautifully prepared, ultra rare Ceraurus sp. (maybe a new species maybe Ceraurus milleranus) trilobite from the Fairview Formation of Bracken County, Kentucky, Ordovician in age. The trilobite measures 1 1/8” long as it sits and would be about 1 5/8” if prone. It is extremely 3-D. The matrix measures 3 5/8” x 2 7/8”. This beautiful piece was found about 25 years ago and prepared by one of the best preparators of rare Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky trilobites. This has been in a personal collection since found and I was lucky enough to buy it when it became available. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the best Ceraurus from this area ever found. What makes it all the rarer is the pathology on the pygidial spines. Was one bitten and regenerated?
