Offered here is a one-in-a-lifetime, beautifully prepared, totally prone, ultra rare predated Arctinurus boltoni trilobite from the Rochester Shale Formation of Orleans County, New York, Silurian in age. The trilobite measures 5 3/8” long and is the most predated trilobite I’ve ever seen. The matrix measures 11” x 10 1/2”. In the past I tried to purchase the finest specimens available from different locations and now I’m just focusing in on specific areas allowing rare and unavailable specimens of the finest quality go. You just don’t see specimens of this quality and preservation for sale anymore. With the amount of predation on this specimen, one can assume a cephalopod did the damage multiple times. This one is totally prone and has stunning preservation. It was prepared by one of the best in the business and meticulously prepared out of a solid piece of shale.
