    Description

This is a lot of 6 Clevenger handmade bottles made in 1975 for the Bicentennial. They commemorate events of North Carolina's "firsts"  or contributions to the Revolutionary War effort.
Each bottle is embossed back and front, the fronts having an image and the backs an explanatory description of the events depicted. Only 215 sets of these limited edition bottles were made. The set comes with a colorful brochure put out by the State of North Carolina for the Bicentennial, itself a collectible, that provides more information about some of these events. These are original in design of embossing and concept, but are called "reproductions" because of the early shapes were used and to distinguish them from antique bottles of long ago.
