    Offered, from a redundant teaching collection, is a rare and well preserved item for the specialist collector: an 8cm (including telson) essentially complete example of the Pod Shrimp
    Ceratiocaris stygia
    Salter,
    from the Middle Silurian; Wenlock Series, Preisthill Group; Dunside Fm., from the north side of Grouse Hill, Lesmahagow, UK.
    The ovate carapace shows good peripheral definition and internal detail, and the telson preserves good surface detail and will prepare further with modern air tools; the trifurcate telson spines may be preserved too.
    Matrix approx. 13cm X 6cm X 1cm
