Maneki Neko, Beckoning Lucky Cat is known to bring good luck to the owner.
Especially, Maneki Neko raising its right paw beckons money luck.
On top of the that, the word "Fuku (Good fortune)" is on this cat's right paw. Also lots of good luck symbols such as Mt. Fuji, Crane and Turtle are painted on the body.
This figurine is painted by the "Mori technique" which is one of the characteristics of Kutani Ware figurines and a painting technic in which a thick layer of highly viscous paint is applied. The three-dimensional patterns and textures created by the raised paint create a mysterious beauty.
Please note that there may be unevenness in the colors due to the handwork process, and that there may be small splashes of paint or paint sticking out due to the vigorous painting process.
