2010 was a great year for Magnetic Fields. The documentary film Strange Powers: Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields made its debut in film festivals around the world. Directed by Kerthy Fix and Gail O'Hara, it was shot over a period of 10 years. It discusses the formation of the band, Stephin's friendship with Claudia Gonson, the production of various albums, and Stephin's move to California from New York. It won the Outfest 2010 Grand Jury Prize for Feature Documentary.

Gary Houston creates some of the most beautiful music art on the market today.
Gary's impeccable design sense and subtle humor are unique in the rock poster world. His work has a hand-made quality exemplified by such top-tier silkscreen illustrators as Emek and Chuck Sperry. Gary hand-pulls virtually all his own silkscreens. His stellar skills and attention to detail are evident in every poster he makes -- truly the perfect choice for any wall in a music lover's home.
I believe that beyond the obvious beauty and intrinsic value of Gary's work, its original hand-made pedigree, high-quality conception, flawless execution, reasonable cost and very low edition size make Gary's work a great acquisition for collectors. Many of his pieces have appreciated dramatically in a very short period of time.
Gary was elected to the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2019
