Large Folded Trimerus delphinocephalus Trilobite – New York!

Trimerus delphinocephalus:
Silurian. Clinton Group, Rochester Shale. Rochester area, New York. Size:
Would be 4 ½” in length if fully extended, on a 6 ½ x 4” irregular piece of matrix.
This is one of the USA’s largest trilobite species. It is characterized by its long
length and robust look. Not sure how this occurs, but occasionally a trilobite
will get folded like this one.
Trimerus delphinocephalus are relatively rare
and quite expensive when complete.
