    Description

This is a Middle Devonian trilobite,
    Harpes perradiatus,
    from Alnif , Morocco.
The specimen is well preserved- some of the fine pitting is evident on the preglabellar area. Both eyes are visible.
The trilobite is 1.88 inches long (from tip of spines to tip of shield) and 1.1 inches wide at the widest point on the shield. The entire specimen, with matrix, measures 4.65 inches long, 3.22 inches wide and 0.55 inches high at its highest.
There is repair diagonally across the length of the bug, starting on the right side of the shield, across the cephalon and exiting at the tip of the left shield. In the trilobite- collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks and the specimens often get broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure.
All of my fossils are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.
