    Green Valley, Arizona was one of the first communities in the USA to be developed as a "Planned Retirement Community".  The planning started in the 1950s but actually became a reality in the 1970s and 1980s.  As a planned retirement community, many parts of Green Valley were age restricted.  That is no one under the age of 55 could buy a house or rent a casita (condo) in certain areas.  The medical center did not have a Maternity ward.
    But nowadays, Green Valley has developed into a community with the Larger Town of Sahuarita surrounding it on the East, making a community of tens of thousands of homes.   But it still retains the "Retirement Community" aspects. and is a good place to retire.
    This map is put out by the local newspaper and is funded by advertising around the outside.  This is a map of just Green Valley and does not include most of Sahurita.  But if you are looking for a place to retire, this is your map.
