FRANK ZAPPA and ALICE COOPER at California State College, Fullerton 1972 Reproduction Concert Poster
This is a high quality lithograph reproduction concert poster for the fantastic Frank Zappa and Alice Cooper show at Cal State Fullerton Nov 8 1972. Frank Zappa's career spanned more than 30 years, establishing him as one of the most prolific, eclectic and highly distinctive composer, electric guitar player and band leader in music. His concerts were experiences that fans never forgot. No one would forget this concert with Alice Cooper opening. The originator of 'Shock Rock', the band's traveling carnival of filth and terror cemented Cooper's success, along with the release of School's Out that summer, winning devoted fans in droves while at the same time horrifying parents and outraging the social establishment (definately a recipe for success). Zappa had signed Cooper to his Straight Records label and was instrumental in the development of Cooper's on stage persona and theatrics making this a natural pairing of two of the most talented and influential artists in music.
This is a great poster by one of the most masterful poster artists in the history of concert posters, Rick Griffin. A great image of viking eyeballs hefting horns of grog saluting the masters the poster is promoting. This classic poster is featured in the book The Art Of Rock, p 372, plate 4.124. This wonderful high quality lithograph reproduction measures approx. 13 x 19" and is in mint condition. FREE handbills included!
