Fossils-4 Killer Waldron Pyritized Brachiopods, 6 Gastropods-Trilobite Crinoid

Offered here is a beautifully prepared sea floor slab of
4
pyritized brachiopods
and 1 pyritized gastropod from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The brachiopods measure, on an average, about 3/8”wide. All are highly pyritized with beautiful detail. The pods measure
about the same
. The matrix measures 3 1/2” x 2
1/4
”. As you can see from the pictures, the brachiopods and pods are nicely articulated and pyritized. There is also a nice bryozoan on the piece
as well as trilobite parts and a crinoid stem.
This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
