Offered is a rare, good sized and well preserved item for the specialist trilobite collector; a piece of mudstone matrix approx. 10cm X 10cm X 5cm (weight 0.65kg) from the Lower Llanvirn of  Baoshan, Yunnan Province, China, preserving a 6cm complete example of the Illaenid
Alceste
cf
elevatus
(Lu 1975; syn
Cekovia elevata
).
With both librigena
in situ
and with well defined cephalic axial furrows, palpebral lobes and facial sutures, this is a very displayable example, which will clean/ prepare further with modern air tools.
