Trilobite is 1.6 inches long!
This is a very spiny US trilobite. It is a rare Ceratonurus sp. from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This specimen was found and prepared by
trilobite savant, the late, great
Eugene Thomas. This type of trilobite has extremely thin genal spines and occipital spines, which have been meticulously prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The distinct bug is inflated and exhibits wonderful detail. Many of the long, flowing pleural spines are beautifully showcased, and even the tiny spine-on-spine ''fringes'' of the tail are intact. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix plate. The impressive bug is very well showcased on the sculpted block of Haragan limestone. This is a very displayable example of one of the most sought-after spiny trilobites from the USA.
