Here is a beautifully outstretched Chotecops sp. from the roofing slate quarries of Bundenbach, Germany. The site where these bugs have been found for decades is now closed, and the only way to obtain these classic specimens is through the dispersal of old collections - this is one of those specimens. This cool trilobite is much more 3-dimensional than most bugs from this site. The large bug (almost 3 inches long!) is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail - the exposed compound eye even has the individual facets preserved! The large cephalon, individual thoracic segments, and rounded pygidium are all clearly defined. The distinct trilobite is beautifully showcased on the very large plate of roofing slate. This is a very collectible example of Chotecops from this world-famous locality.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. FREE SHIPPING in the USA!
