    Description

    :   Modocia Trilobite and Ctenocystoid
    Age:
    Middle Cambrian
    Formation:
    Wheeler Formation
    Location:
    Millard County, Utah
    Size:
    Plate is 5.7 inches tall
This is a very unusual fossil association. It is a rare Modocia brevispina and Ctenocystoid plate from the House Range of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1996. This bug differs from the more common Elrathia in that the head is not as wide and the pleurons are more pointed. The distinct bug is very inflated and displays well on the plate. The uncommon Ctenocystoid (lower left) is also quite nice. The two fossils are very well showcased on the large matrix plate. This is a rare arthropod/echinoderm association plate from the Middle Cambrian.
