This is a fantastic trilobite double from the Devonian of Morocco.
This beautiful specimen was painstakingly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in the US.
There are two different types of trilobites on the plate.
Both trilobites are natural to the piece - there has been no compositing done to this magnificent specimen!
A sleek, outstretched Paralejurus hamlagdadicus is on the left of the plate. This 3-dimensional trilobite has the brims of both the head and tail prepared in a free-standing manner for optimal display. On the right of the block is a very inflated and 3-D Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus. The sharp tailspines have all been prepared free-standing, which is quite striking. Both trilobites are extremely prone and have excellent detail preserved. The colorful trilobites (two different colors - fully natural!) contrast well with the lighter-colored matrix. The impressive bugs are beautifully showcased on the large, sculpted block of dense limestone. This is an outstanding display specimen of two very different trilobites that has been artistically prepared to its maximum potential here in the USA.
