This is a wonderful plate of crinoids from the famous Mississippian layers near Crawfordsville, Indiana. There is a nice Scytalocrinus at the top, and a killer Forbesiocrinus at the bottom. The main crinoid on the plate is the Forbesio, a
Flexible crinoid that is wonderfully inflated and exhibits excellent detail. The plate structure is beautifully defined, and the arms are complete to the very tips, curling inward at the top of the crinoid. A long stem is still tightly attached to the crown. There is also a long, thin Scytalocrinus preserved on the plate.
Both of the fossils are quite 3-dimensional and are totally natural to the plate. The ancient echinoderms are wonderfully showcased on the large, repaired display plate of siltstone. This is a very collectible and displayable plate of distinct crinoids from this renowned fossil site.
