This is a GIGANTIC example of an OLD US trilobite. It is a freakin' huge Wanneria walcottana from the Lower Cambrian, found in the Brubaker's Quarry of Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the 1980's.
This massive trilobite is complete and well articulated. The ancient arthropod has very nice detail preserved and has nice natural color and contrast displayed, especially for a Brubaker's bug. The thick plate of Kinzers Shale was broken in front of the head and has been repaired there. The front of the head "dove" deep into the layer and had to be excavated out to be exposed (The head is very 3-D!). There is not much detail left in this area, but the rest of the bug is quite displayable. We got this specimen from the local collector who found it - he the did the repair work on the matrix crack, some restoration, and coated the entire bug. Overall, it is an extremely impressive trilobite - SIX AND A HALF INCHES LONG...WOW! This is
a very displayable MONSTER example of a complete Lower Cambrian Wanneria walcottana - trim it down, or leave it "as is" to showcase the enormity of the entire piece.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. FREE SHIPPING in the USA!
