Why it is important:
Exceedingly Rare French fanzine L'œil de Zappa (The Eye of Zappa) was published 1980-1982. Francis Vincent is of course a nickname; the actual author was probably Dominique Chevalier. According to the alt.fan.frank-zappa faq there should be in total 6 issues (The 1st 5 issues were photocopied and stapled). A well-produced informative fanzine, dedicated (truly) to Frank Zappa. Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993) was an American musician, composer, songwriter, and bandleader. His work is characterized by nonconformity, free-form improvisation, sound experiments, musical virtuosity, and satire of American culture, though he always had and maintains a dedicated following in Europe.
