    at the Mehrzweckhalle in Zofingen [Switzerland] on Saturday, 5th June, 1971, presented by Good News. By this time ELP were touring continental Europe in support of the
    Tarkus
    album, their second studio album, produced by Greg Lake and released on 14th June, 1971, on Island Records.
    Tarkus
    went to #1 on the UK Albums Chart, and peaked at #9 on the
    Billboard 200
    , one of only two ELP studio albums to reach the Top 10 in the States. "Tarkus" is a suite in seven parts. Lasting nearly 21 minutes, it takes up a full side of the album. The odd-numbered sections are instrumentals, and the even-numbered ones vocal tracks. It is a concept piece the idea for which is gleaned not from the music and lyrics alone, but also from the album artwork and the section titles; nevertheless the concept and narrative remain ambiguous and open to interpretation. The second side of the album is made up of short songs unrelated to "Tarkus" or to each other. The poster features striking artwork by Swiss artist Peter Blumer.
    The poster measures 24.9 x 63.4 cm (approx. 9.8" by 25" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock (coated on front only). Small diagonal crease to the bottom right corner, else in excellent unfolded condition, ready to frame. P
