Displayable 9.5cm 3D prone Ectillaenus giganteus: Lower Ord., Valongo Portugal

Offered is a well preserved, good sized (9.5cm)and high relief item for the specialist trilobite collector; a prone example of the familiar Illaenid
Ectillaenus gigantea
(Burmeister, 1843), from the Llanvirn Series; Llandelian Stage, Valongo Formation of St Pedro de Cova, Portugal.
This articulated specimen is complete except for the tiny librigena, and retains the cephalic doublure, which can be further prepared ventrally. The pygidial doublure is exposed with coarse terracing evident. The saggital distortion is usual for the locality. Matrix approx. 10cm X 5cm X 2cm.
No reserve for a displayable, complete and sharply preserved example of this classic Iberian species.
