This is a pair of Japanese ceramic handmade Maneki-Neko or Beckoning Cats.
It is believed that Maneki-Neko beckons lucky fortune.

They are very special and artistic. Why?
Because, they were 100% handmade by a
80 years old potter artist
Yuzuru Watanabe (1940 - ).
He is living with 6 cats and vigorously working at his own kiln in outskirt of Tokyo.
I bought these cats directly from him at his kiln.
The artist wrote his belief at the bottom surface of the cats with Japanese calligraphy (photo #12).
It says "Spring-Summer-Autumn-Winter. Let it be.", i.e. always let it be.
It is his belief and lifestyle!! Very poetic!!
It is brand new and in excellent condition.
